Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Student Assistant, in a learning capacity, will assist in the development of the Museum of Lottery Artifacts (MoLA), the preparation and move into the new Lottery Headquarters building and decommissioning and disposal of property in the old Lottery Headquarters building.

Assist in the development and operation of the Museum of Lottery Artifacts (MoLA). Duties include, cataloging Lottery artifacts, photographing artifacts, recording information, inputting artifact information into an electronic database, and ensuring artifacts are properly labeled and inventoried. Assist in preparing the MoLA space for display, move artifacts into their proper location, transport artifacts between Lottery locations, and prepare artifacts for display.

Assist in preparing MoLA and move related documents including, manuals, informational flyers, forms, and newsletters. Type, proofread for grammar and clerical errors, and finalize text in miscellaneous documents. Ensure copies are readable, visually correct and in appropriate Lottery format.

Assist the Lottery Property Controller II in decommissioning and disposal of property in the old Lottery Headquarters building. Duties include, inventorying items, developing spreadsheets to track property, attend meetings, meet with vendors, and review disposal forms for processing.

Assist in performing administrative assignments and/or various special projects related to the MoLA and/or move into the new Lottery Headquarters building. Participate in meetings; take notes, format and forward to appropriate stakeholders. Make copies and/or send projects for reproduction and distribute as needed

Maintain office equipment as required, including reloading paper, toner, and ink cartridges. Meet and escort Lottery vendors. Perform computer-related functions utilizing Word, Excel, File Maker Pro, and PowerPoint.

Students must be enrolled and attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at any accredited college or university and enrolled at a minimum : six (6) semester units or nine (9) quarter units for undergraduate students; four (4) semester units or six (6) quarter units for graduate students.

Able to lift and move artifacts weighing up to 25 lbs. If necessary, artifacts are placed on a wheeled cart and pushed to the appropriate locations.

Contra Costa County Library in Northern California seeks to fill two (2) full time Senior Community Library Manager positions
in Pinole/El Sobrante, California and Brentwood, California.

Contra Costa County operates 25 community libraries within a 750 square mile area and serves approximately 900,000 urban, suburban, and
rural customers with an annual circulation exceeding 5 million.
Incumbents are responsible for day-to-day administration and operation of a community library. This includes responsibility for the
supervision of subordinate personnel; development of material collections appropriate for the community served by the library; development
and implementation of a plan of service; recommendations to County Library Administration regarding community needs and improvements in library
service patterns; and the establishment and maintenance of direct liaison between the community library, city, school district, Library Friends,
and local groups to encourage good community relations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
License Required: Possession of a Valid Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.

Brief Description of the STEP Program:
This program has as its major objective the employment of students, giving them a chance of work in Federal agencies so they can resume or continue their education without interruption caused by financial pressure. Students appointed may work part-time while school is in session and full-time (if needed) when students are on vacation period or whenever the school is officially closed. Students are entitled to annual (vacation) leave and sick leave and are eligible to enroll in health benefits after 1 year.

Brief Description of Duties:
Perform original and copy cataloging of technical reports, assign main entries and subject headings, applying AACR2 rules and Library of Congress Subject Headings. Search OCLC bibliographic database in order to determine which reports require original cataloging. Create new bibliographic records in OCLC Connexion. Assign classification numbers according to the Library of Congress Classification System and Cutter rules. Use EOS International to process newly created bibliographic records and/or attach copies to existing records. The ideal candidate would have completed at least one Graduate level cataloging course.

Basic Qualifications:
Completion of 4 years of education above high school – OR – 1 year of specialized library experience.
Specialized experience is defined as work that demonstrates the applicant's ability to perform the work of the position, such as: completion of at least one cataloging course; basic understanding of MARC bibliographic records structure, AACR2 cataloging rules, Library of Congress Subject Headings, and Library of Congress Classification System; and good database search skills with attention to detail. Knowledge of OCLC Connexion a plus, but training will be provided if necessary.
Education: One year of full-time academic study is defined as 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hour or the equivalent in a college or university.
