This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student positions. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause.

Note: Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees may work up to 30 hours per week during the academic year and up to 40 hours per week during breaks; Winter, Spring & Summer.

Under the general supervision of the Staff Services Manager I, the Student Assistant, in a learning capacity, will assist in the development of the Museum of Lottery Artifacts (MoLA), the preparation and move into the new Lottery Headquarters building and decommissioning and disposal of property in the old Lottery Headquarters building.

Assist in the development and operation of the Museum of Lottery Artifacts (MoLA). Duties include, cataloging Lottery artifacts, photographing artifacts, recording information, inputting artifact information into an electronic database, and ensuring artifacts are properly labeled and inventoried. Assist in preparing the MoLA space for display, move artifacts into their proper location, transport artifacts between Lottery locations, and prepare artifacts for display.

Assist in preparing MoLA and move related documents including, manuals, informational flyers, forms, and newsletters. Type, proofread for grammar and clerical errors, and finalize text in miscellaneous documents. Ensure copies are readable, visually correct and in appropriate Lottery format.

Assist the Lottery Property Controller II in decommissioning and disposal of property in the old Lottery Headquarters building. Duties include, inventorying items, developing spreadsheets to track property, attend meetings, meet with vendors, and review disposal forms for processing.

Assist in performing administrative assignments and/or various special projects related to the MoLA and/or move into the new Lottery Headquarters building. Participate in meetings; take notes, format and forward to appropriate stakeholders. Make copies and/or send projects for reproduction and distribute as needed

Maintain office equipment as required, including reloading paper, toner, and ink cartridges. Meet and escort Lottery vendors. Perform computer-related functions utilizing Word, Excel, File Maker Pro, and PowerPoint.

Students must be enrolled and attending classes during the regular term (Fall, Spring and Winter, if applicable), at any accredited college or university and enrolled at a minimum : six (6) semester units or nine (9) quarter units for undergraduate students; four (4) semester units or six (6) quarter units for graduate students.

The hiring department may have a higher unit requirement. If so, you must follow that department's requirement.
Able to lift and move artifacts weighing up to 25 lbs. If necessary, artifacts are placed on a wheeled cart and pushed to the appropriate locations.
The Student Assistant is responsible for adhering to the laws, rules, policies, and procedures pertaining to employees of the California Lottery.
