This position offers a unique opportunity for a high performing and talented individual to provide service to the library, university and profession, to develop professionally by participating in creative and scholarly projects, and to work collegially with members of the Library Management Council by participating in library and campus planning and assessment. The Chair of Public Services provides leadership toward goals and objectives as developed by the library administration and librarians. The Chair maintains administrative/supervisory oversight of librarians and staff in the Public Services Division; is a member of the senior administrative team and maintains confidentiality in all personnel and budgetary matters. Provides direction, supervision, and leadership for Access Services (Circulation and Interlibrary Loan), Reference and Instruction Services, Brandman University Library Services and oversight for the Library’s instruction and information literacy/assessment programs.
The Chair will also participate in reference, instruction, collection development and be a liaison to the College of Educational Studies, based on organizational needs, in addition to serving on library and university committees. Other duties as assigned.
