The Melisa Reasner McGuire Health Sciences Library at Scripps Mercy Hospital, San Diego, California, has an opening for a Medical Library Technician, casual, .4 FTE. Hours are 4 hours per day, 4 days per week.

Position Summary:

The Medical Library Technician has primary responsibility for document delivery, including inter-library borrowing and lending of library materials, acquiring journal articles from electronic sources, and providing copies of articles from the Scripps Mercy medical library. Other duties include assisting the Medical Librarian with cataloging preparation and collection maintenance as needed, serials and circulation management and the annual inventory of books and audiovisuals.

Experience/Skills:

Library experience is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills, computer and internet proficiency, initiative to exercise independent judgment, and problem-solving skills are required.

Required Education/Training: Bachelor's degree (any major) or Associate degree in Library Technology.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
