About the Position:

The Sacramento Public Library is seeking dynamic, forward thinking candidates for our Circulation Supervisor position.

The Circulation Supervisor provides complex and responsible paraprofessional library work as a supervisor of a circulation work unit in a medium to large library; provides

supervision and leadership to unit or branch staff; and performs other related duties as assigned.

This announcement will be used to create an eligibility list that will be used to staff Circulation Supervisor openings that occur in the next 6 months.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associates Degree;

AND

Two years of relevant paraprofessional library experience or four years experience in the Sacramento Public Library as a Library Services Assistant; or equivalent technical training, education, and/or experience.

Work Schedule:

Work schedules are subject to change based on the needs of the Library; candidates must be able to work evenings and weekends.

The Sacramento Public Library Authority is the fourth largest library system in California serving the public in the City and County of Sacramento and five surrounding cities. The Sacramento Public Library operates 28 libraries, with a main library in downtown

Sacramento and a new branch which will be opening in late August. The Library has over 300 staff members, a collection of 2M volumes, and a budget of $35M. More than 600,000 residents have a library card and over 7M items are circulated annually.
