The John Spoor Broome Library at California State University Channel Islands is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track librarian, Digital Collections Librarian, to assist us in furthering our service-oriented, student-centered, inter-disciplinary library environment. The ideal candidate is innovative, team-oriented, entrepreneurial, willing to take chances, can laugh at their own mistakes, and wants to engage with the campus community. Reporting to the Head of Collection Development and Technical Services, the Digital Collections Librarian works collaboratively in and outside the Library to: manage unique collections; preserve digital and archival resources; assess and implement archival and digital library initiatives; develop new digital library offerings; advance infrastructure supporting digital and archival library collections; and identify and develop technologies for these purposes. The Digital Collections Librarian possesses a thorough understanding of the digital resource life cycle and is committed to eliminating inefficiencies, encouraging participation by all university users at all levels, and willing to explore traditional and non-traditional methodologies and standards that support acquisitions, universal use and access. This position includes Reference Desk responsibilities and some evening and weekend hours.
