Description
Under general supervision, manage the Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Document Delivery Services (DDS) billing activities for the University Library. Maintain billing databases and integrated library system (ILS), and ensure accurate and timely billing activities, report production, and data integrity.

Ensure compliance with accounting, auditing, and reporting requirements. Coordinate development/update of notices, policies, and procedures. Act as primary contact for ILL/DDS billing queries and issues. Responsible for the public service desk and support the critical daily functions of the unit and interpret and enforce unit, department, and library policy/procedure.  

Physical Demands
Read standard and computer print, handwritten requests, notations and computer screens. Operate keyboard and read CRT screens for extended periods of time.

Lift material weighing up to 15 or more pounds and pass material across counters up to 40" in height. Move, load, and unload book trucks weighing up to 400 pounds. Shelve and retrieve material from stacks 5"-84" in height for extended periods of time.  

Minimum Qualifications
Library operations and practices work experience in an academic library public service setting (Facilities/Security, Circulation, Reference, Personnel, Stacks Maintenance, Interlibrary Loan and Document Delivery Services).

Interpersonal and communication skills to successfully interact with a diverse patron and staff population, and to remain calm; exercise tact and compassion when dealing with individuals and intense situations.

Experience with general business and financial record keeping practices and guidelines to ensure compliance with auditing/reporting requirements.

Organizational and time management skills to work independently and follow established processes and priorities; flexibility to manage rapid priority changes and adjust workflow to meet deadlines and back-up co-workers as needed.

Experience using analytical and problem solving skills to investigate issues and determine solutions while maintaining compliance with established policies/guidelines; making policy exception on granting/refusal; and exercising independent judgment, discretion and creativity when making decisions based upon information and established policy/procedure.

Math skills performing calculations, interpreting/analyzing data, and compiling statistics to make accurate calculations and postings.

Experience using complex databases to manage data, troubleshoot problems, suggest enhancements and perform testing.

Electronic communication and MS Office experience, including advanced Word, Excel, and Access functions.

Experience operating automated library systems, catalogs, and other library-related databases including bibliographic skills using creativity to search and problem solve obscure material identification and access.

Skills to operate and troubleshoot standard office/library equipment.

Writing, editing and proofreading skills to compose clear and concise professional documents and communications.  

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of applicable University policies and procedures with skills to interpret, articulate and apply Unit/Library/University policy.

Skills to work cooperatively as a contributing member of a team to establish unit goals; plan, organize and implement unit procedures to achieve goals; and back-up co-workers during staffing shortages and heavy workload periods.

Knowledge of Library of Congress (LC) and/or National Library of Medicine (NLM) classification systems.

Experience working with UC Davis Accounts Receivable System (Banner).
