Librarian I: $46,490 - $56,509 Annually

Librarian II: $57,293 - $69,640 Annually

Description
The County of Yolo is recruiting to fill one regular, full-time Librarian position at the Yolo County Library. The candidate selected for this position will be assigned to Youth Services at the Mary L. Stephens – Davis Branch Library and will work with a team of professionals, paraprofessionals, and community members to deliver quality services to children ages 0 to 8 in the City of Davis,  and the West Yolo region. The position will be responsible for planning, developing, implementing and evaluating system-wide, local and County-wide programs and outreach services to families and youth of all ages, with a focus on early childhood literacy for children 0-5 years old.

Services include managing a wide range of diverse family programming, play area, afterschool enrichment activities, building partnerships with other youth-serving agencies and supporting grant-funded services through First 5 Yolo, family resource centers and other community-based organizations. Yolo County Library follows a youth development model of service and a collaborative culture of inclusion and community engagement. Experience working in a multilingual, multicultural environment is highly desired.

Applicants that are currently in the last semester of their Master of Library Science or Library Information Services degree program are welcome to apply.  However, any offer of employment will be contingent upon proof of completion of the degree program. 

In addition to the qualifications listed in the online application, the ideal candidate will be community-oriented, enthusiastic about promoting the library to a broader audience, able to engage new technologies, adept at managing grants, capable of being the person in charge of a branch and genuinely enjoy serving a diverse population base. Fluency in languages other than English is highly desirable. All Library staff in this class are expected to provide direct service at any branch. Incumbents in this position are required to work regular evening and weekend hours.
