Library Supervisor I, Collection Services Department

The Sacramento Public Library has an opening for a Library Supervisor I in our Collection Services Department. This position bears responsibility for oversight of all acquisitions for the Library system.
Specific duties include the following:
- Implement and coordinate the ordering and receiving of library materials, the processing of materials invoices, and the reporting of materials budget balances;
- Direct, supervise and evaluate the work of four Collection Services staff;
- Serve as Library liaison with sales representatives of publishers and distributors; maintain vendor accounts, order templates and MARC profiles;
- Serve as a resource for staff throughout the Library system, coordinating and collaborating frequently with materials selectors, the finance office, and public services staff;
- Prepare training, technical support and written documentation for the Library’s ILS system;
- Prepare regular statistical reports.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited college or university; or
2. Bachelor’s Degree and one year of customer service experience in providing programs, information and customer service in a library or related setting; or
3. Two years of college and three years of increasingly responsible customer service experience in a library or related setting.;
4. Acquisitions experience is highly desirable and preferred
