Sacred Heart Cathedral Prep’s busy high school library seeks a reliable, part-time Library Assistant to open the Library at 7:00 am and work until 1:00 pm during the school year. Position begins August 19, 2014.
Our library program focuses on preparing our students for university-level research. The library is a state-of-the-art facility with a warm and friendly environment, staffed by two full-time librarians and two library assistants.
We are looking for a tech-savvy multitasker who would enjoy supporting students and teachers in an academic environment. Must have expertise with Microsoft Office Suite, online databases, and audiovisual technology. Sense of humor and experience working with students a plus. Duties include: performs clerical routines, including word processing and typing; manages the routine for the circulation of materials and distribution of equipment; manages periodical subscriptions, processing and routing; assists students and teachers in locating materials and using computers; assists in the supervision of students the Library; assists with inventory. Desired Qualifications:
-BA/BS degree or Library Tech Certification
-Experience working in a library setting
-Experience working with students a plus
-Experience with Google Apps a plus
Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory is a Roman Catholic, co-educational college preparatory high school located a few blocks from San Francisco's Civic Center. The school is owned by the Archdiocese of San Francisco and sponsored by the Christian Brothers and the Daughters of Charity. It has a diverse student population of 1250 students reflecting the demographics of the city. Although the institution dates back to 1852, the facility is modern. During the past decade, nearly 100% of students have continued on to higher education each year.
