Job Description
Do you want to be directly involved in creating programs and developing partnerships that improve and enhance library and literacy services for all Californians? IF SO, THIS MAY BE THE JOB FOR YOU!
Under the direction of the Assistant Bureau Chief of Library Development Services (LDS), the Library Programs Consultant is responsible for planning and implementing statewide projects and initiatives for California libraries, to align with the State Library’s Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) five-year plan, strategic plan, institutional goals, and/or industry-identified trends in library services.
This position may be headquartered in the City of Sacramento or maybe a work at home assignment headquartered outside of Sacramento City in concurrence with the State Library's telework agreement.
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirements
All Levels:
Equivalent to graduation from a college or university and completion of a graduate degree from an accredited library school; or a library media credential issued by a teacher-credentialing commission authorizing service in California; or a graduate degree in a relevant or appropriate field.
Experience Requirements for Library Programs Consultant
Either I
One year of experience in the California state service performing professional librarian duties at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Supervising Librarian II.
Or II
Two years of experience in the California state service performing professional librarian duties at a level of responsibility equivalent to that of a Supervising Librarian I or a Senior Librarian.
