PT Hourly Librarian - City of S. San Francisco

Salary: $23.67 - $28.76 Hourly
Applications are being accepted for the position of Part time Hourly Librarian with the City of South San Francisco.
This is an on-call part-time non-benefited position. Open Until Filled.
LIBRARY
Excellent customer service is one of our primary goals in serving our culturally diverse community.
The Library has adopted the one-desk model integrating circulation, reference and children’s services into one point of service.
Staff is cross-trained on circulation tasks and provide backup to paraprofessional staff.
The Library has adopted the Roving model of service with staff members out on the floor assisting patrons.

POSITION
The part-time librarian performs a wide variety of duties in the Public Services section of the Library in a busy library
with a high level of customer contact.

A qualified candidate will be able to provide reference and readers’ advisory service for all ages; explain the use of print and
electronic resources to individuals or groups; and may participate in children’s programming such as story times.

QUALIFICATIONS & JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Qualifications include an MLS degree and experience working at a public library information desk.
• Applicants should have experience using automated library systems and computer applications, and experience using computers to
conduct reference and literature searches and on-line database searches.
• Applicants must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes days, evenings, weekends, and emergencies and will work at the
Main Library and the Grand Avenue Branch. Applicant will work some Sunday afternoons per month.
• Ability to speak and read Spanish is not required but is highly desirable.
A valid California driver’s license and insurance coverage is required for this appointment.
