Yolo County Public Library - Cataloging Intern



Summary of Position:
Assist with the cataloging of materials in various formats including books, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.  Search in OCLC and overlay full MARC records to short acquisitions records.  Add series statement and local subject headings to MARC records when applicable.  Assign call number according to local practice.  Upload records to library catalog.
Requirements:
Prefer an upper-level undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated student interested in a career as a cataloger in libraries.  Prefer knowledge of MARC, LCSH, AACR2, RDA, and DDC. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.  Experience working with Innovative Millennium a plus.
Position availability:
Fall, Winter, Spring, and Summer
Hours:
A minimum of 8 hours per week with flexible scheduling between the hours of Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
