The Master of Management in Library and Information Science (MMLIS) degree program at the University of Southern California's Marshall School of Business seeks two outstanding part-time faculty to teach the initial two required courses in the MMLIS program. These faculty positions, working at a distance with online support, require firm grounding and experience in management as well as LIS and a combination of skills and confidence that will transform education in library and information science through the integration of leadership knowledge, skills, and abilities across the curriculum. Each course will be taught through team-based problem solving requiring a commitment to this pedagogy. Candidates are expected to participate in the planning, promotion, and assessment of the MMLIS program.

The MMLIS program seeks dynamic faculty interested in an innovative teaching environment with unique opportunities for graduate student instruction who are motivated by a passion to participate in a totally online innovative graduate program reflective of USC's investment in the future of librarianship. Successful candidates are expected to be creative in identifying and solving problems in instructional design. In addition, candidates are expected to be comfortable working in an online environment interacting with students and colleagues, current with graduate education practices, work collegially across the university, and have a significant, positive impact on USC and professional communities.

Specific areas of interest include: Fundamentals of Library and Information Science, Fundamentals of Library Leadership and Management. Experience in academic, urban and/or government/corporate library/information sectors would be an asset.  
 
Applicants must have a terminal degree in Library and Information Sciences or a related field with a research focus in LIS.  
Candidate must have demonstrated:

* Experience developing and teaching academic courses in management and library and information science at the graduate level
* Experience with teaching or instructional methods and principles, particularly in an online environment
* Experience assessing student learning outcomes
* Ability to work in a collegial, collaborative environment
* Experience using social media, computer-assisted learning applications, or have previous experience using technology to support instruction and learning
* Demonstrated skill in responsiveness to diverse student populations
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
* Excellent oral and written communication skills  
 
 
A PhD (or equivalent) completed or near completion and a combination of academic/professional qualifications.  
Senior experience appropriate to a graduate academic program offered in management.
