Mountain View Public Library - Cataloger - Part TIme Temp

We are currently recruiting for one or two hourly catalogers for Mountain View Public Library. The immediate need is for a six to eight week assignment up to 28 hours per week. Mountain View is a great place to work!

We are looking for a cataloger with these qualities:
  • Professional non-fiction cataloging experience in a public library.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service.
  • Accuracy & speed in copy cataloging 50 titles per hour.

What are the minimum qualifications and skills?
  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree in Library Science is desirable but not required.
  • Professional public library cataloging experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the Dewey Decimal System and MARC.

Details about the job:
  • Starting pay is $29.84/hour, without benefits.
  • Schedule is up to 28 hours per week, Monday through Friday, during business hours. Immediate need is for a six to eight week assignment.
  • Copy catalog non-fiction, fiction, media, and magazines.
  • May assist with authority control projects.
  • Our ILS is Sierra (Innovative)

What happens next?
