About the Job
Using creative, administrative, and analytical skills, the Learning Services Specialist supports and works closely with Research & Learning Services colleagues to further the development of students’ information literacy competencies.

Key responsibilities include the following: 
Instructional Support -- Creates, evaluates, and updates instructional materials/learning objects in a variety of formats. Ensures materials are current, effective, and accessible.
Administration -- Administers online tools used for instruction and reference purposes (e.g. LibApps) to ensure that software functionality is optimized and user access is managed. Creates documentation to support use of these tools. Coordinates scheduling of instruction sessions, workshops, and events.
Assessment -- Gathers, analyzes, and summarizes data for reporting, decision-making, and advocacy purposes. Evaluates and recommends new processes and tools to improve existing workflows related to instruction and reference services.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related area and five years of progressively responsible related experience OR Master's degree in related area and three years of progressively responsible related experience or equivalent experience and training.
Demonstrates strong collaborative skills and the ability to complete assignments independently.
Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Possesses an ability to effectively communicate information in a variety of formats especially online environments.
Demonstrates proficiency in the use HTML and Microsoft Windows-based computer programs especially Excel; possesses an ability to learn, master, and implement new technologies.
Demonstrates problem-solving skills to address challenges and propose solutions.
Demonstrates effective data collections methods and excellent analysis skills.
Evidence of effectively managing and improving processes.
Takes initiative and exhibits an ability to prioritize work in an environment with multiple functions.
Exemplifies excellent customer service skills whether to internal or external customers.
Demonstrates experience providing training and feedback with the ability to adapt to specific audiences.
Maintains complete discretion, confidentiality, sensitivity, and professional judgment.
Demonstrates knowledge of learning theories and/or instructional design, preferred
Demonstrates knowledge of and interest in using library online databases and resources, preferred
