THE POSITION: The City Librarian is responsible for the leadership role in the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Library in accordance with the policies and regulations established by the City of Sausalito and Library Board of Trustees. This includes finances, personnel, scheduling, patron services, acquisitions, reference, circulation, and technical services. The City Librarian serves on the MARINet (local library consortium of Marin libraries) board of directors charged with planning, budget, and policy making. The City Librarian also serves on the administrative board of the NorthNet consortium, attends Library Board and City Council meetings, and is on the boards of both the Friends of the Library and the Library Foundation. As a member of the City’s management team, the City Librarian attends department head meetings and reports to the City Manager. Temporary Social Sciences Librarian - San Diego State University

San Diego State University Library and Information Access is seeking a temporary half time (20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends) Social Sciences Librarian. Reporting to the Head of Reference, the successful candidate will provide reference (face-to-face and virtual) in all areas plus instruction and research support to the social sciences and business. The temporary librarian will also participate in instruction for basic composition classes as needed.

Duties of the Position: Members of the part-time librarian pool participate in one or both assignment areas under the general direction of the Chair of Library Faculty:

  1. Teach credit courses and other instructional sessions in the Libraries’ Information Literacy program. Credit classes may be taught face-to-face, online, or in a hybrid format.
  2. Provide quality reference service to CSUEB undergraduates, graduate students, faculty, staff, and other library patrons during weekdays, weeknights, and/or weekends.
