CIRCULATION SERVICES SUPERVISOR
SALARY *$4,156-$5,187 per month. *In addition to the monthly salary, the City offers a monthly benefit allowance of $859.

Human Resources office hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. and alternate Fridays, 7:30 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. City Hall offices are closed on alternate Fridays.
APPLICATION INFORMATION In addition to the City’s application, applicants must submit the Supplemental Application.  Failure to submit with the application will result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
THE POSITION Under general supervision, the Circulation Services Supervisor manages and participates in the administration of the Circulation Services Division. The Circulation Services Supervisor is responsible for circulation and retrieval of Library material; supervises and performs book lending and return activities; uses a computerized circulation system including checking books in and out.  Provides general assistance to patrons by registering patrons, updating patron accounts, collecting fines, and creating special entries. Selects, trains, schedules, assigns, and evaluates permanent and part - time personnel en gaged in circulation and retrieval of library materials, fee collection and accounts receivable management and patron registration. Receives and processes requests for book selections, searches for titles and information requests as needed. Resolves problems and respond s to citizen complaints concerning patron records, Division procedures, and library policy. Maintains a variety of records and statistics; conduct s research projects as requested; prepare s reports as needed. Participates on committees, and at tends workshops on Circulation issues. Operates a variety of office machines, including standard and specialized computer systems, typewriters, and copiers. Provides responsible staff assistance to the Director of Library and Museum Services and Library Services Managers and performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Two (2) years of responsible technical and/or clerical library experience. Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Knowledge of: Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation and practices used in dealing with the public. License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver’s license. Other: Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, stoop, squat, crawl, twist, and lift, carry, push, and pull 20 - 30 lbs.
THE SELECTION PROCESS
Applications will be reviewed and those candidates whose applications indicate they have met minimum qualifications will be further considered to participate in the recruitment process.  
The recruitment process will consist of:  Application Evaluation (Qualifying), Supplemental Application (Qualifying) and Qualifications Appraisal Interview (100%). Candidates will be selected based on qualifying review of application materials. The City reserves the right to limit the number of interviews conducted. The interview score determines ranking on the eligibility list and remain in effect for one year. Pre-employment background and medical examinations are additional requirements for hire. Failure on any part of the selection process will result in disqualification and exclusion from further progress in the selection process.

The information you provide on both the City and Supplemental Application will be used to evaluate your overall qualifications and to determine whether you will receive further consideration in the selection process.
