Oakland Public Library, Library 1 Temporary Part-Time

The Oakland Public Library is currently recruiting to add to its pool of “on call” temporary part-time (TPT) librarians. TPT Librarian I’s may work in adult reference, children’s, teen, or generalist areas of the Main Library and/or our 16 branch libraries. The salary range for this classification is $28.94 - $35.55 per hour, plus a Health and Welfare increment of $1.71 in lieu of benefits. TPT employees do not receive benefits, and are limited to working 960 hours annually. A Master's degree in library science from an American Library Association accredited graduate program is required. Job training and/or special courses in children’s library services; and proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese and/or Mandarin are highly desirable.
