Copy catalogs and processes new titles; manages state and
federal government document repository programs; assists with the university
digital repository; participates in circulation desk staff rotation.
Essential Functions
1. Copy-catalogs and processes all new titles regardless of
format for Sacramento campus programs
2. Loads Sacramento Library MARC records into University Libraries
integrated library system (ILS)
3. Maintains compliance for federal documents received from
United States Government Printing Office
4. Prepares metadata for uploading of records to University
of the Pacific digital repository
5. Reviews and modifies documents and metadata posted
records on the University digital repository
6. Solicits, collects, prepares, and uploads PDF files to
the University digital repository
7. Participates in circulation staff desk rotation to
provide public services in Sacramento Campus Library
8. Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Work Experience:
• Requires High School diploma or GED.
• Library Technical Assistant Certificate or two years of
library technical services experience.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKAs):
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office productivity suite
• Basic conversance with Library of Congress classification
system
• Basic familiarity with basic cataloging rules, including
MARC format
• Ability to accurately perform arithmetic computations
• Ability to accurately type at 40 wpm
• Proficiency with an integrated library system
Positive attitude, proven ability to work successfully with
diverse populations and demonstrated commitment to promote and enhance
diversity and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications
Education:
• Some university education preferred.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities (SKAs):
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat Pro
• Experience operating document scanning equipment
• Experience with Innovative Interfaces Inc. (Sierra)
Integrated Library System
Physical Requirements
Extended periods of sitting and repetitive hand/wrist motion
while using computer keyboard and phone. Occasional standing, walking, climbing
stairs, bending, stooping and reaching. Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
Repetitive physical movement while standing using document and book scanning
equipment.
