About the Department:
The Robert E. Swenson Library is a thriving student center, providing an ideal setting for a forward-thinking, collaborative librarian. The library provides a rich collection of resources and services used by thousands of students every week, and is continuously evolving to respond to opportunities and changing student and faculty needs. Currently there are two (2) full-time faculty librarians, fourteen (14) part-time faculty librarians, and five (5) classified staff members who work with the Library Director to create and deliver the library's programs and services. The library is committed to providing access to quality online and traditional information resources as an integral part of the college curriculum. About the Position:
This position will provide support for the delivery of library instruction, services, and resources to diverse populations at Cabrillo College. The librarian participates in essential work areas including reference, collection development, and information literacy instruction in face-to-face and online environments. This position requires self-direction, flexibility, ability to work well with others as part of a team, and the ability to multitask and adapt to a rapidly changing environment. This assignment may include evening and weekend hours at Cabrillo's Aptos and Watsonville locations.

Examples of Duties
Provide oversight, expertise, and leadership for one or more library service areas.
Participate in the delivery of course-integrated and credit library instruction.
Develop the library's collection as a liaison for specific programs and subject areas.
Participate in the design and creation of web-based instruction and information tools.
Provide equitable library services that are responsive to Cabrillo's student population.
Participate in library-wide committees and professional development opportunities.
Take an active role in shared governance through campus-wide committees.
Completion of required annual trainings such as Title IX, Mandated Reporter, EEO/Diversity/Elimination of Bias, Workplace Safety, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
Master's in library science or library and information science OR
The equivalent OR
A lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential in Library Science or Library and Information Science
