Salary
: Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. This is a full-time, 12-month tenure-track appointment at the rank of Senior Assistant Librarian.

Starting Date: Summer, 2018

Minimum Qualifications:
1) MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library school;
2) Demonstrated knowledge of information resources in ECST and/or academic coursework in ECST or related disciplines;
3) Experience in providing instruction or research consultation services to students and faculty;
4) Evidence of experience with outreach services to engage with students, faculty and the campus community;
5) Excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
6) Evidence of ability to engage in research, scholarly activity, professional development and service required for promotion and tenure as a faculty member at Cal State LA, and;
7) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.

Preferred Qualifications:
1) Bachelor or Master’s degree in an ECST discipline;
2) Experience with existing and emerging research tools, methodologies and print and electronic resources in engineering, computer science, & technology;
3) Experience integrating information technologies in teaching/learning and research environments;
4) Familiarity with information literacy standards/framework, performance indicators and outcomes, and;
5) Demonstrated knowledge of current web and digital content technologies.

Duties:
The California State University, Los Angeles University Library seeks an innovative, collaborative and user-centered librarian to support and advance scholarship, research, teaching and learning for students and faculty in the College of Engineering, Computer Science, and Technology. The College has four departments: Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Technology. The successful candidate will also serve as liaison to other related programs.

The ECST Librarian will collaborate with teaching faculty in the development of digital learning objects and instructional materials related to information literacy in engineering, computer science, and technology; serve as the library subject liaison for the College’s departments, which includes evaluating, selecting, and reviewing information resources in relation to the needs of teaching, learning, research and creative inquiries. Support and/or lead digital initiative projects and maintain current awareness of web and digital content technologies. Collaborate with other library faculty and administrators to assess the usage, satisfaction and impact of library services on student success. The successful candidate will provide on-call and online/digital reference and research consultation and may contribute to outreach activities.
