Salary
Part-time faculty members are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is $51.48 - $65.74 per hour depending on education and experience.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Part-time librarians will be included in a pool for regularly assigned reference services shifts, with the potential for special projects and instruction opportunities. Typical duties for librarians would include: Providing information to students and faculty on resources available in the library or through other sources and assisting in making these resources available both virtually and physically; participating in the development and maintenance of the collection; publicizing library resources and promoting the use of the library; providing instruction of library resources; and assisting with the formulation and maintenance of library reports and statistics. Part-time library faculty will be expected to support a student-center, student ready library, which promotes diversity, equity, inclusion, and access as well as supporting students, the philosophy and mission of the Library and Learning Resources Division. Other projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in library science; library and information science; OR
The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualification(s) as stated on this announcement, must complete the Request For Equivalency Form as part of the application process to explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR
Valid California community college credential in appropriate subject (per California Education Code 87355 issued prior to July 1, 1990); AND
Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic background of college students, and of individuals with disabilities.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Library experience with community college students in reference services.
Experience using Canvas.
Library Instruction within an academic learning environment.
Experience developing digital guides and online synchronous and asynchronous instruction materials.
Collection development.
Work with diverse groups and populations.
Knowledge of SLO's and SAO's.
