Yolo County Library is a seven-branch system that
encourages teamwork and provides a variety of opportunities for developing new
skills. The Yolo County Library is committed to literacy, community, inclusion,
and service. We are looking for
community oriented staff who enjoy learning and participating in online library
services, understand service to diverse populations, and who can involve
community and manage projects.
Current vacancy:
Currently there is a 0.6 FTE position for branch supervisor non-MLIS at
the Clarksburg branch location. This
position may be required to work at a variety of locations.
The Clarksburg Branch Library: Located at 52915 Netherlands Ave.,
Clarksburg, the library serves multiple classes from the local charter
elementary school each week. The library
is a popular spot for adults and seniors to pick up their latest novel and
provides a meeting room for community groups. The Friends of the Clarksburg
Library work in coordination with Library staff to provide access to the
community room and to maintain library services in Clarksburg.
The position: Reporting to the Rural Branch
Manager, the Clarksburg Branch Supervisor oversees the daily operations of a
small, rural, community branch library.
The branch supervisor ensures the smooth operation of the branch
including recruiting volunteers, being the liaison to the Friends group and
other community groups, providing quality library services to school class
visits, preforming circulation duties, responding to questions from patrons in
person, over the phone and by email, performing community outreach, and
overseeing the daily use and maintenance of public computers.
Minimum qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s
Degree from an accredited college or university; AND Experience: Three (3) years increasingly
responsible experience in a public or private library. License: Some
positions in this classification may require incumbents to possess and maintain
a valid California driver’s license, Class C or higher, to carry out job
related duties. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical
