Thousand Oaks - Library Office Supervisor

Salary: $5,107 – $7,660/month

We are seeking a highly motivated, results-oriented Office Supervisor.
Reporting directly to the Library Director, the Office Supervisor will
supervise administrative and secretarial staff.
The City of Thousand Oaks is in search of a committed team player to be
a liaison with department leadership to champion, invigorate and
establish a collaborative, responsive and results oriented office support

Primary responsibilities:

 Provide leadership and work with staff to ensure a highperformance,
customer-service and results oriented work
 Provide effective supervision to direct reports by consistently and
effectively setting priorities and by establishing both team and
individual accountabilities.
 Accomplish results by communicating job expectations;
monitoring and appraising employee performance; coaching and
counseling employees; and developing, coordinating and
enforcing policies and procedures.
 Ensure staff members are cross-trained to facilitate effective
completion of department responsibilities.
 Strategize with divisions within the Library and stakeholders to
identify areas to streamline and implement process

The ideal candidate should possess:

 Excellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written
communications skills.
 Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite.
 Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
 Previous supervisory experience strongly preferred.
 A history of establishing credibility, earning trust, and confidence
of team members.
 Previous experience with financial reports, records, and cash
 Previous experience in a municipal government setting is highly
 Six years or more of increasingly responsible office
administrative and/or secretarial experience.
 BA/BS in Business Administration or Public Administration
