Job Summary:
- Under the direction of the Chief Administrative Officer, this part-time position provides administrative assistance to meet the operational needs of the Department of Agricultural & Resource Economics Student Advising Center and supports access to ARE library resources.
This position is responsible for the following:
- textbook orders;
- coordinating course evaluations and exit surveys;
- maintaining webpages for advising services and library resources;
- assisting with scholarship and award selection processes;
- assisting with commencement and orientation activities;
- managing circulation of library resources, reserves and binding services;
- and conducting annual library resource orientation.
- The position also serves as a back-up to the AAIII administrative support in the ARE Student Advising Center.
Physical Demands:
- Lift and move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to run errands on campus in various types of weather
Work Environment:
- Must be able to work at a computer for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work independently and alone.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with website maintenance.
- Experience composing and editing documents and correspondence for accuracy, consistency of format and grammar, and professional appearance and style.
- Organizational skills to set-up and maintain files.
- Excellent oral communication, customer service and interpersonal skills to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally in person, by email and by phone.
- Experience using standard business software applications including word processing, email, calendaring, spreadsheet and database software.
- Knowledge of library functions and procedures, including library filing practices.
- Skills to recognize essential bibliographic elements of title/citation.
- Skills to alphabetize, file and retrieve bibliographic records in various files.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with BANNER, OASIS, Gradhub, GARD, or similar database programs.
- Experience using the MELVYL catalog system.
- Experience working with students, staff and faculty in a university/college advising setting.
- Experience providing instructional information to groups.
