Salary Amount: $64,658 - $99,621 (includes pro-rata compensation for ten (10) required additional service days) 

Job Description
Moreno Valley College is seeking enthusiastic, service-oriented candidates for the position of Technical Services & Digital Assets Librarian / Assistant Professor. Under the leadership of the Dean of Instruction, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for the Moreno Valley College library Integrated Library System (ILS), including any updates and/or migrations, integrate the ILS with other library services and resources, identify and promote open educational resources, as well as participate in reference, library instruction, and collection development. 

Education
American Library Association (ALA) accredited Master's degree in Library Science or Library Information Science, or an equivalent advanced degree. 

Experience
Minimum of two years of experience in a library setting performing technical services and cataloging functions. Experience providing reference and instruction in an academic library setting.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Innovative's Millennium Integrated Library System and knowledge of alternative ILS systems;
Recent experience migrating and implementing an ILS system in a multi-college district;
Familiarity with creation of research guides, using formats such as Springshare's Libguides, as well as multi-media and interactive platforms. Experience with diverse students. 

OtherEvidence of a sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students (E.C. 87360a). 

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Responsible for the daily operation of the Library's Online Integrated Library System, including any ILS migrations;
2. Collaborate with the district libraries on ILS related matters as appropriate;
3. Understands and can perform all jobs related to library technical services, including but not limited to: cataloging and classifying library materials; maintaining an accurate, up-to-date database of print and electronic library holdings; physically processing items being added to and withdrawn from the collection; and acquisitions functions.
4. Oversees and assists in entering print and digital library materials into the ILS in accordance with the current ALA cataloging standard;
5. Responsible for ongoing technical services and ILS training for staff and public;
6. Coordinates and communicates with system users regarding system activities, functions, problems, issues, etc;
7. Oversees system activity such as database backup, notice generation, and report generation;
8. Commitment to an open and inclusive process for considering ILS solutions;
9. Serve as a liaison with the faculty and administration to promote the library, including services and resources, through instructional and administrative program reviews;
10. Identify and promote curriculum-based Online Educational Resources; and
11. Participate in librarian duties including reference, collection development and maintenance, and library instruction.
12. Assignments are based upon the assumption of workload of forty hours weekly, including but not limited to conducting classes, class preparation, student evaluation, office hours, committee work, curriculum and program development, student learning outcomes assessment, program review, student activities, and other duties per the bargaining unit agreement.
13. Institutional service activities are expected of all faculty members.
14. Participate in discipline/department decision making processes and work regarding curriculum, program development, Improvement of Instruction, and other professional matters are also expected of all department faculty.
15. Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
