Education/Psychology Librarian - University of San Diego

The University of San Diego's Copley Library seeks an energetic and enthusiastic individual for an Education and Psychology Librarian and Coordinator of Library Instruction position. Reporting to the University Librarian, this librarian serves as liaison to the School of Leadership and Educational Sciences (SOLES), which includes the Center for Policy and Law, the Institute for Nonprofit Education and Research, and the Leadership Institute. He/she will also serve as liaison to the Psychological Sciences Department in the College of Arts & Sciences as well as the Center for Educational Excellence.

This librarian will be responsible for cultivating a strong collaborative and consultative relationship with these liaison areas through collection development, instruction, and reference work for the undergraduate and graduate programs. Teaching responsibilities will include library research methods classes, course-integrated instruction sessions, and workshops. Duties also include providing general academic reference service with some evening and weekend responsibilities. As Coordinator of Library Instruction, this librarian will coordinate and provide leadership for the library instruction program and serve as the point person in the areas of learning and teaching, pedagogical techniques, and technology as it relates to information literacy. Essential tasks may include developing instructional materials and designing and implementing an assessment program of information literacy. Outreach to faculty is essential to this position.
