Minimum Qualifications:
1) MLS or equivalent from an ALA-accredited library institution
2) Knowledge of information resources in Business, Finance, Marketing, Accounting and/or Economics and/or academic coursework in Business Administration or related disciplines.
3) Experience in providing instruction and/or research consultation services to students and faculty.
4) Ability to demonstrate a commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students in a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus environment with a substantial population of first-generation students.
Preferred Qualifications:
1) Bachelor or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, or Marketing.
2) Evidence of experience providing information literacy instruction grounded in ACRL’s Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education.
3) Knowledge of current and emerging technologies and their use in the delivery of learner-centered library services and information resources
Duties:
Support and advance scholarship, research, teaching and learning for students and faculty in the College of Business and Economics that includes the following departments: Accounting; Economics and Statistics; Finance, Law and Real Estate; Information Systems; Management; Marketing and possibly other departments/programs in the College of Professional and Global Education.
The Business & Economics Librarian will serve as the library subject liaison for all departments in the College of Business and Economics, which includes evaluating, selecting, and reviewing information resources in relation to the needs of teaching, learning, research and creative inquiries. Incumbent will provide library instruction and research consultation services (in-person and online) to students and faculty in the College of Business and Economics. The successful candidate will collaborate with other library faculty, staff and administrators to assess the usage, satisfaction and impact of library services on student success.
