San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis - Library Assistant/ Archives Assistant - Part Time

Location: Downtown San Francisco, CA (SOMA)

The San Francisco Center for Psychoanalysis, celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2017, and currently located in a quaint recently entirely remodeled two story brick building convenient to the Powell Street Transportation Hub, Mint Plaza and the Chronicle Building, is looking for a part time (20hr/wk) library assistant who has more than a passing familiarity with how psychoanalysis/psychiatry works as well as archival processing and cataloging experience.

Knowledge of LCSH, DACS, EAD and other ‘best practices’ standards are greatly desired, as is experience with audiovisual cataloging and production techniques.

Seeking team player, self-starter, hard worker, experienced Library assistant with archive experience, who has worked before in this dual capacity and is willing to step into complex projects on both sides of the fence.

Experience putting together online exhibits using exhibit software such as OMEKA and experience with physical exhibits at a gallery or museum or public programs experience is a plus.

Ability to lift a 40 lbs. weight may be required. Pay is 20$ per hour;
