JOB DESCRIPTION
The Library Assistant reports to the Club Librarian/Archivist, and supports the work of the Librarian and members.
Job Duties
Scanning historic records, including photos, scripts and other Club memorabilia; documenting the progress of digitization projects.
Verifying accurate bibliographic information for new books recommended by Club members; locating and collating published book reviews; and preparing a preliminary monthly report to be edited by the Librarian and distributed to the members of the Book Selection Subcommittee.
Assisting the Club Librarian by tracking new book orders and deliveries, and preparing books for shelving and circulation.
The Library Assistant should be proficient in general office skills (DB/Text Works, Microsoft Office, and Epson scanning equipment and software). The successful applicant will possess superior data entry and record-keeping skills; will be able to perform detailed responsibilities accurately and quickly; and should be able to demonstrate an eagerness to practice the elements of library-bibliographical work. Business attire is required.
Other Requirements
Some College or equivalent work experience
Fluent in the English language
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills and prioritization
Interpersonal and customer service skills
Ability to work effectively with all levels of management
Must be able to lift 25 pounds
