Position:
Allan Hancock College is accepting applications for
part-time faculty librarians to establish a pool of qualified candidates to
work at the Santa Maria campus and Lompoc Valley Center. As positions for
part-time faculty librarians open, the department will select from the
established pool.
ANTICIPATED NEED AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Qualifications: A Master's degree in library science, or library information science, OR the equivalent.
Duties:
- To provide reference assistance to students, faculty, and staff;
- To conduct class tours and orientations; to assist in collection development and maintenance; to assist faculty librarians with projects;
- Other duties as required.
Hours:
- May vary from semester to semester, not to exceed 20 hours/week. Some Saturday and evening hours may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- The position will require walking and standing for 40 minutes at a time. It may include bending and lifting up to ten pounds. Frequent use of a desktop computer is required.
Special Qualification:
- Sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of staff and students and to staff and students with disabilities.
SALARY:
- Starting at $34.64 to $54.09 per hour depending upon education and experience
