Job Description:
The Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) is recruiting to fill a Library Technical Assistant vacancy in the Standards, Evaluation & Research Bureau. THE MOST COMPETITIVE CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Familiarity with the functions of an online public access catalog.
  • Understanding of library processes, especially serials (journals).
  • Knowledge of the uses of different types of library materials for research.
  • Experience with online research using commercial databases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow verbal/written instructions and procedures.
  • Self-motivated individual who enjoys working in a professional team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage changing priorities.
  • Values good working relationships with all levels of staff and management.
  • Strong organizational skills.


ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE SKILLS:
  • Interest in and knowledge of social media.
  • Interest in working with the law enforcement community.
