Position Summary           

• Selected applicants will be interviewed to establish a pool of  approved librarians for possible part-time assignments or qualification for an on-call substitution pool in the Library/Learning Resources Department.
• Assignments may include providing reference service using print and electronic sources, conducting library orientations, and/or other duties as needed. Assignments may be for day, evening, or weekend hours at the San Luis Obispo or Paso Robles Campuses. Addition to the pool does not guarantee an assignment; pool is effective for a maximum of two academic years. 

Qualifications:

• Academic (Faculty) candidates complete the Equivalency Process only        
• Required:
• Masters in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program, or equivalent.
• The equivalent (candidates making application on the basis of equivalency must submit all materials requested for an equivalency judgment, indicated on the Equivalency Process link). OR a valid Community College credential in the discipline
• Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desirable:

Reference experience;

• Bibliographic Instruction experience in the discipline, community college level preferred;
• Familiarity with electronic as well as print information sources;
• Awareness of the philosophy and objectives of California Community Colleges.
