Menlo
College has an immediate opening for a short-term, part-time Information
Services Librarian.
Reporting
to the Dean of Library Services, the Information Services Librarian is
responsible for providing reference and research assistance to a diverse
population of undergraduate users, including adult learners in the Professional
Studies Program, as well as faculty and staff.
Desired
qualifications include previous experience in an academic or public library;
familiarity with an integrated library system, preferably WMS; library
instruction experience; strong written and oral communication skills; ability
to work independently and as part of a team; and a strong commitment to
excellent public service.
An
ALA-accredited MLIS is strongly preferred, although we will consider an MLIS
student with significant coursework and reference experience.
This
position is part-time, 15-20 hours per week until approximately early to
mid-May, with the possibility of extension. Evening and weekend hours will be
required.
Menlo
College is a private, undergraduate college that offers degrees in business and
psychology based in the liberal arts. Located on the San Francisco Peninsula
