Blake Austin College is looking for a part-time, contract,
Librarian to help students, faculty and staff with finding and recommending
source materials as well as determining what type of materials they need.
Instruct students and faculty on basic computer skills, educate them on
policies and how to use library resources. Classes could also be taught on how
to utilize new technology and information comprehension. Train and supervise
learning resource assistances and federal work study students in the basic functions
of maintaining and overseeing library resources. The Learning Resource Center
is also responsible for scheduling and proctoring computerized and written
exams.
Must be knowledgeable about both print and electronic
information sources and databases, and be able to quickly identify the needs of
students and do so with precision.
Knowledge of how to build and integrate on-line Library
resources for Distance Education courses is required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENT:
Master's degree in library science or library and
information science from a school accredited by the American Library
Association.
Professional experience in a library setting, academic or
otherwise, is recommended.
