Description:

The County of San Luis Obispo Public Libraries is seeking a dynamic individual to fill the role of regional librarian.  This senior member of the library management team will play an integral part in the overall strategic direction of the library.  The person selected for this position will act as a branch manager for a large regional library, oversee smaller branches in the library system, and will have significant supervisory responsibility over several different Library classifications.

Desired Qualifications:

• Extensive supervisory, managerial and leadership experience
• Ability to manage multiple library branches and staff within a designated region
• Experienced in interacting with community members, outside agencies and volunteer groups
• Experience planning, coordinating and implementing Library programs, policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from an American Library Association accredited college or university with a master's degree in library science or library and information science
• Three years professional library experience, of which one year is in an administrative or supervisory position
