Library Resources Assistant
LAC Group is seeking a Library Resources Assistant to assist
in the daily operations at a library consortium located in Downtown Los
Angeles. This office position will
consist of duties related to electronic resource acquisitions for
libraries.
Responsibilities
- Provide logistical support, such as generating price quotes, updating price models in the subscription system, and setting up new acquisitions;
- Resolve acquisitions issues by communicating with vendors and libraries, verbally and electronically, according to the consortium’s policies and procedures;
- Provide key support in the annual renewal process of creating renewal order forms and invoices, then processing changes in accordance with libraries’ requests;
- Assist in improving the consortium’s web site, producing enhancements such as e-resource product descriptions and answers to FAQs;
- Assist in maintaining administrative, membership, database subscription, and prospective database subscription files;
- Track accounts receivable information in order to produce reports for libraries, produce financial statements, and help resolve issues related to invoicing and payments;
- Provide staffing support for multiple events throughout the year.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s Degree is a must with an MLIS/MLS preferred;
- Previous library experience is a plus;
- Working experience with and detailed understanding of Excel (previous bookkeeping experience is a plus);
- Ability to work independently;
- Ability to work collaboratively and accurately;
- Ability to use Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
