The Foothill-De Anza Community College District is currently accepting applications for the faculty position of Librarian, Systems and Technology, Foothill College.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION INCLUDE:
Foothill College is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and service-oriented Systems and Technology Librarian who will have primary responsibility for the college’s integrated library system as well as other web-based library resources and services. This person will manage all aspects of the operation, integration, and enhancement of the ILS (currently SirsiDynix Symphony) and coordinate its use with Technical Services and Public Services staff to maximize the system’s capabilities in acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, and serials control.  The successful candidate will also manage the library’s electronic resources; take a leadership role in implementing, integrating, and evaluating emerging technologies and services as they pertain to the library; administer and support a variety of library technology infrastructure tools and techniques, including discovery layer, link resolvers, proxy server, and content management system; and generate and maintain appropriate statistical information, reports, and surveys. The position works closely with staff members from all departments in the library and several departments on campus and at the district and acts as a liaison to the library’s technology vendors.
Standard duties of all librarians include providing reference service, serving as a liaison to one or more academic divisions, selecting library materials, participating in division meetings, and participating in library instruction, library orientations, and tours as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding of, sensitivity to, and respect for the diverse academic, socio-economic, ethnic, religious, and cultural backgrounds, disability, and sexual orientation of community college students, faculty and staff.
Master's degree in library science, or library and information science, OR the equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Three to five years of professional library experience, preferably in an academic library.
Knowledge of and experience managing integrated library systems (SirsiDynix Symphony preferred), including administration, implementation, troubleshooting, and integration with other systems and programs.
Experience planning and implementing library systems and information technology initiatives.
Experience with electronic resources management, including assessment, licensing, implementation, troubleshooting, and collection and analysis of usage data.
Experience with or knowledge of library technology infrastructure tools, such as discovery layer, link resolvers, proxy server, content management systems, and webpage maintenance.
Knowledge of or experience with reference, library instruction, and collection development.
Experience in working with students from diverse cultural, ethnic, socioeconomic, academic, and disability backgrounds, with a wide variance of information-seeking skills and technological competence.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and collaborate with various departmental service units.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
