Overview:

Library Systems & Services, LLC (LSSI) has an opening for a Young Adult Librarian.  This is a full-time, 40 hours a week position and includes benefits.
MLIS/MLS is required

Responsibilities:

• Initiates, plans, and conducts a variety of programs and activities to encourage the use of the library by young adults between the ages 12 and 18, including reading clubs, Makerspace, STEM and STEAM programs, and school and community outreach
• Provides direct assistance to patrons with readers advisory and use of library materials and services
• Coordinates library social media posts and website updates
• Promotes, publicizes and reports on library services to the community and local agencies in collaboration with other library departments
• Coordinates and supports para-professional staff and volunteers
• Oversees YA collection development
• Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

• MLIS/MLS is required
• The ideal candidate will be an energetic, team-oriented individual with a strong customer service commitment
• Possess knowledge of current trends in library services and procedures, current information technology, Internet and database search capabilities
• Knowledge of young adult literature, and the ability to translate young adult needs and interests into effective library services and programs
• Skills and experience with current and emerging technologies and social meda
• Must be available to work evenings and weekends
• Bilingual Spanish a plus
