California State University, Bakersfield is seeking a Collection Management and Development Librarian.

The Collection Management and Development Librarian will work with the dean, librarians, and teaching faculty to continue to build a high quality academic collection in all formats that meets the needs of students. CSUB is looking for a capable librarian who can help it recommend and shepherd the adoption of a unified library management system that will be shared with other CSU campuses; ensure the integrity of catalog records; provide guidance on making materials accessible; work with vendors and the CSU chancellor’s office to provide access to a wide range of materials that meet student needs; oversee all areas of collection development and make purchase recommendations based on usage and budget analysis data. 

This newly-created position will report to the Dean of the University Library.
