JOB SUMMARY:
This position is located at the Dudley Knox Library at the
Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, California. The incumbent analyzes and
interprets library specific requirements, prepares and manages project plans
for selection, evaluation, integration, and upgrade of library specific
technologies and has primary responsibility for library Integrated Library
Software (ILS) management.

DUTIES:
Researches, analyzes, evaluates, plans, tests,
troubleshoots, coordinates and implements all aspects of the Integrated Library
Systems (ILS) application, hardware and associated peripherals.
Provides technical oversight and management of all matters
relating to the recommendation, purchase, licensing, and use of library
specific software applications, and library content/resources.
Participates in the planning, development, and
implementation of the services and activities of the library systems
department.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Basic Requirements for 1410 series (per OPM qualification standard):
- Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate study in library science in an accredited college or university, in addition to completion of all work required for a bachelor's degree; (NOTE: You must submit a complete copy of your transcripts or an itemized list of college courses which includes equivalent information from the transcript (course title, semester/quarter hours and grade/degree earned.))
- OR A total of at least 5 years of a combination of college-level education, training, and experience. To qualify on this basis, the applicant must establish conclusively that the education, training, and experience provided a knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles, and techniques of professional librarianship; knowledge of literature resources; and the knowledge and abilities essential for providing effective library and information services.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Specialized Experience: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities, to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
- Assisting with the development and maintenance of integrated library system (ILS) applications, hardware, and associated peripherals;
- Evaluating new technologies and concepts for organizing and providing access to digital information and electronic resources; and 3.) Providing library systems support and training to patrons and staff. OR
Education:
- 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's in library science or equivalent graduate degree, e.g., LL.B. or J.D., related to the position (or will complete by August 31, 2015). OR
- Combination of education and experience which when combined is equivalent to 100% of the minimum qualifications.

REQUIREMENTS:
